Downtown proved the perfect venue for the Great Vegas Festival of Beer earlier this year, and starting next week Motley Brews, the organizer of that annual event, will begin a monthly summer series at Downtown’s Container Park featuring craft beer, live music and classic movie clips.

The series, called Open Container, launches at 9 p.m. Friday, June 27, the fourth Friday of the month (the other two summer Open Containers will be July 25 and August 22). Brian Chapin, founder of Motley Brews, says guests begin the evening by sampling more than 20 craft beers while watching classic movie clips and shorts, and confirmed brews include selections from Ballast Point, Banger and Oskar Blues. Around 11:30 p.m., live bands will play the Container Park stage. Whether you’re a beer geek, movie buff or music lover, you’ll find something to enjoy here.

Tickets are $20 and are currently on sale at
